ABOUT
I Teach What I Use
I’m Alliance PEMOSSO, a digital designer, trainer and content creator based in Brazzaville.
A large part of my work involves helping people use digital tools in a practical way. I teach graphic design and software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint, but showing where to click has never felt like enough to me.
The part I care about comes later.
Can the person build the spreadsheet when I am not beside them? Can they fix the presentation when something changes? Can they make a design decision without copying every step I showed during class?
That way of thinking also affects the way I communicate.
During COMM 310, I worked on video scripts, social media, press releases, news writing, interviewing, feature writing and email newsletters. I noticed that the tool changes, but the problem is often similar: understand the audience first, then decide what they actually need from the message.
I am still learning too. Digital tools change quickly, and communication does not become easier just because more tools exist.
This portfolio brings those two parts of my work together.
MORE OF THE STORY
I have worked with professionals and organizations on communication and digital-skills projects, and I also teach through online content. Creating tutorials was one of the things that made me interested in communication beyond design. I remember publishing some of my early videos and realizing that people I had never met were actually using them to learn. That changed the way I thought about content.
I am currently studying communication at Ensign College through BYU-Pathway Worldwide.
AREAS OF WORK
Where the work concentrates
01
Communication
Making complicated information easier to follow, in writing and out loud.
02
Visual & Digital Design
Graphics and layouts built to communicate, not just decorate.
03
Training
Teaching digital tools and communication skills to other professionals.
04
Digital Content & Tutorials
Videos and written content, including tutorials that reach people I’ve never met.
“One area I am still working on is professional writing in English. French is my first language, and there are moments when I know what I want to communicate but spend several minutes rewriting one sentence because it still doesn’t sound right.”
My goal is to get better at connecting writing, visual communication, and digital media. Outside of work and school, I read, listen to music, watch series, and probably watch more online videos than I originally planned.
